Obama says assault weapons ban deserves a vote in congress is an article that caught my attention while looking for sources. After applying the CRAAP method to it I found out that it is a very good source for my blog. The C for CRAAP stands for currency and this article was written on February 4, 2013 so I don’t think that I could get much closer than that. The R stands for relevance to my subject. The article is about how and why President Barack Obama wanted congress to at least hold a vote on banning assault weapons to the public. The first A is authority, meaning who wrote this article. A Mark Felsenthal wrote this article and he has written many articles for and about our Presidents over the years. The second A stands for accuracy which is talking about the reliability of the source and Mark has written numerous articles and I feel that he is reliable. The P is for purpose meaning the reason behind this information existing. Everyone wants to ban assault weapons because of the shooting that have happened lately.

  1. Ben, you're doing a nice job of finding sources that are extremely current so you can have a better idea of what's being said in the current conversation about gun control.

As you'll see in my comments for phase six, I think you're confusing the categories of "Authority" and "Accuracy." Go back to the CRAAP handout and look at how different the questions are for the two "A" categories.

Also, when you make a statement like "Mark has written numerous articles," can you substantiate that claim for your audience? What are the names of some of these articles? What have they been about? Have you read these articles yourself or is this information provided in a bio you found? It's important to validate your claims in this way.
